PART TWO
Publications / Printed Matter
• Bring to class a minimum of 3 examples of publications whose format/techniques you admire regardless of cost or feasibility.
• Bring to class a minimum of 3 examples of publications whose format/techniques you admire that was produced inexpensively.
For example look at:
Concept – what is the story and how is that physically shown
Format – how are they unique? Loose, bound, accordion-fold, etc.
Packaging – what materials are used for the case, slipcase, ribbon, extras, etc.
Type treatment – fonts, text placement, readability, function, etc.
Printing techniques – embossing, foil-stamping, die-cutting, etc.
How are all these physical elements effectively telling a story?


PRESENTATION
Please show publications that are inspiring and unique
Bring in the actual publications. If you cannot bring in the actual publication/s, then present images in PowerPoint.
Post presentation on class blog – due DAY OF CLASS.
Printout presentation and put in 8.5” x 11” binder.
