The Visual Story (04/4/07)
ASSIGNMENT 10 (Due April 11)
PART ONE
Class divides into 2 groups of 5 students in each group.
Group 1: Angela, Barun, Chelsea, Katherine, Rebecca
Group 2: Greg, Jamie, johanna, Reina, Stephanie
PART TWO
Based on information gathered during research and class presentations, each group will conceptualize
and present 2 proposals for a Parsons/New School Products Catalog.
Things to discuss and present visually:
What is the title?
Show title design/type treatment
What are your unique formats?
What is the packaging/outer visual?
How are the visuals of products organized?
What is the supporting text/type?
What makes this catalog desirable?
Is it clear that this is a Parsons/New School Products Catalog?
NOTE: We will be seeing a total of four proposals next class (2 from each group).
PRESENTATION
Present working physical prototypes or bring in physical examples to illustrate your ideas. You can also present sketches and renderings in PowerPoint. Be sure to ‘brand’ your presentation (make them look professional).
Post presentation on class blog – due DAY OF CLASS.
Printout presentation and put in 8.5” x 11” binder.
FOR NEXT CLASS (APRIL 11) - PLEASE BRING 8½ X 11” BINDERS WITH PRINTOUTS OF ALL PRODUCT RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT SO THAT WE CAN REVIEW AND WORK IN CLASS TOGETHER AS A GROUP.
