PART ONE
Production of the publication
How does your final project look?
Is it “real” looking?
Is it desirable?
Do you want to keep it?
How do your promotional items look?
Are they “real” looking?
Are they desirable?
Do you want to keep them?
Do they effectively advertise the Parsons catalog?
Do they direct the viewer to the Parsons catalog?
PART TWO
Presentation of the final publication
How will you present the project + the promotional items to guest critics?
Remember, this is a GROUP project, so you should map out what EACH of you will present.
Create ONE COHERENT BRANDED POWERPOINT presentation (do NOT do separate PowerPoints).
Collect the best and most successful parts from your research and past presentations and re-format into new, final presentation. Do NOT include all of your research/assignments.
Make sure to PRACTICE your presentation!
• Origin of the project – basic, brief history introducing the following segments (1 student)
• Research - Parsons store history, other school stores, Museum stores (1 student)
• New School brand standard and “The New Store” logo (1 student)
• The development of the 3 different lines + each line’s contents, logos, colors, etc.
• Brand Standard - New School Spirit (1 student)
• “Typical” collegiate “look” / crest development - Parsons Pride (1 student)
• Promoting the famous/successful graduates - Alumni Collection (1 student)
• Case concept and development (1 student)
• Promotional items (1 student)
• Photographs (many high-quality photos) of the final publication (1 student)
END OF POWERPOINT
• Present the actual working physical publication to guest crits to handle (1 student)
PART THREE (to be presented in PowerPoint above)
Documentation of the publication - The publication needs to be photographed beautifully and re-touched.
• Clean and crisp lighting, plain white background
• Show publication both: closed AND open
• Display with all the parts visible
• Group publication with promotional items
• Detail close-up’s of the layouts to see the difference in content
• Multiples as a row of buildings (idea as future issues and collectibles)
